NASMaster

Privacy policy

Last updated 8 October 2026

NASMaster is a client for managing your own TrueNAS server. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no developer-operated servers. The developer does not collect, receive or share any data from the app.

What the app talks to

The app connects only to the TrueNAS servers you add, at the address you enter. If you configure container registry mirrors, image pulls or cloud and replication tasks, those requests are made by your TrueNAS server, not by the app. Plain ws:// connections are allowed so LAN servers without TLS work; the sign-in screen warns when you use one.

When notifications are on, the app also checks your server for new alerts from time to time in the background. These checks go to your server only.

App icons. The Apps screens show icons from the image addresses your TrueNAS server supplies. Your device fetches them directly, usually from servers run by the TrueNAS project or the app’s publisher, so those hosts can see your device’s IP address in the way any website you visit can. Nothing about your server or account is sent with those requests.

Data stored on your device

This data stays on the device, is excluded from Android cloud backup and device transfer, and is removed when you sign out, remove a connection or uninstall the app. Signing out also deletes the API key from the server.

Permissions

Files

When you save a debug file, configuration backup or snapshot file, or pick an update file or key file, it is read from or written to the location you choose on your device, and transferred only to or from your TrueNAS server.

Purchases

The Google Play version offers a one-time Pro unlock. Payment is handled entirely by Google Play under Google’s privacy policy. The app never sees your payment details; it only asks Google Play whether the purchase is owned. The developer receives no purchaser information from the app. The separate personal build has no billing.

Demo mode

“Explore with demo data” uses sample data built into the app; nothing is sent to any server.

Children

The app is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated date.
